DIY Bandana Garland for the 4th of July

I have seen so many pictures on Pinterest of these adorable DIY bandana garlands and I have been wanting to give this a try myself  for so long.
I finally made one and it only took me about 15 minutes!

For starters you will need the following:

  • Bandanas (I only used 2)
  • Jute Twine
  • Scissors

I made about 2 feet of garland and only used 2 bandanas. I got my 4th of July themed bandanas from Target Dollar Spot for only $1 each.
This project was only $2 for me because I already had Jute Twine on hand.
Such an inexpensive project and yet SO CUTE!

You will start off by cutting the bandanas into 1-2 inch strips, depending on your preference. Don't worry about cutting them super straight or the frays on the bandana, I just think it gives it more character.

Once you have the bandanas into the strips fold the strips in half and put the folded part behind the jute twine.

Next, you will put both loose ends over the top of the twine and go through the folded part of the strip of bandana.

Pull the bandana tight towards the twine, and continue this process until the garland is long enough for you.

I spaced my strips of bandanas out a little after I finished instead of having them scrunched up.

If you need a better visual of how to do this, check out my how to video below.

I am honestly surprised at how easy and fast this project was!
You have to give it a try!!
