Celebrating Mother’s Day a little different this year

Mother’s Day this year was a little different but Michael and the kids made it so enjoyable.

They let me sleep in Sunday morning and then the kids came and woke me up and told me to cover my eyes. They led me through the house to our back door. A breakfast filled aroma filled my nose as we passed through the kitchen. Sausage, bacon, eggs, and of course coffee. Yum!

We made it out the back door and onto the porch.
“3, 2, 1... okay momma, open your eyes!”
I opened my eyes and the biggest gift of all sat right there in front of me. A hammock! The gift of relaxation.

I’m not sure if it’s been all the quarantine stuff and us staying home and being outside more or that this momma needs so much more one on one relaxation after the long days of homeschooling.
Either way, I was so excited!

After we finished up our delicious breakfast we all got ready and went over to Michael’s parents to drop off a gift and take care of their dog. It was the perfect day to take the top and doors off Michael’s Jeep so that’s exactly what we did.

After leaving his moms house we ran to Walmart and grabbed some top soil, cow manure, outdoor cushions, and a new pot for my Potho plant.

We headed home and started on our garden. This will be the next blog post so stay tuned for that.

After finishing our garden, repotting my Potho plant, and watering all the plants it was just about time for the sun to start meeting the horizon.

This was the perfect time to slip away outside and relax on my next hammock. I didn’t tell Michael or the kids where I was going. I just needed a little bit of time to relax.

Michael ended up sneaking outside and joining me on the hammock. I guess he started wondering where I went. But it was nice to just lay there and take in nature and relax.

It was such a great Mother’s Day!
So thankful for my family.

I hope all the mothers had a great day as well!
Tomorrow on the blog will be all about our garden, stay tuned!!
